RAY GEORGE HOPKINS of Crownsville, MD died December 6, 2011 at the age of 61. He completed his apprenticeship at Singleton Funeral Home, later working as a funeral director for the Glen Burnie Funeral Homes. In 1989, he and his partner, David Hovatter purchased the firm, where he worked until retiring in 2008. He sold his share of the firm to his partner in 2010. He was a member of the Maryland State Funeral Directors Association, where he held chairmanships and served as president from 1997 until 1998.
