PAUL MASTERSON ELVIG of Seattle, WA died April 2, 2021 at the age of 79. He began his career in the cemetery industry by working as a night caretaker for the Greenacres Memorial Park, in trade, for living in the upstairs apartment. He later became manager of the cemetery. Elving served as vice president and later president of the Evergreen-Washelli Cemetery and Funeral Home in Seattle. He retired in 2007 but remained active in the industry. Elving, instrumental in writing cemetery law, was past president of the International Cemetery, Cremation and Funeral Association, which awarded him with the 2018 Hall of Fame award.
