LAWRENCE "LARRY" MANDEL of Highland Park, IL died October 16, 2016 at the age of 67. Larry was an interfaith life cycle celebrant and funeral director concierge. A fourth generation funeral director, he was owner and manager of Piser Funeral Services in Skokie, IL from 1980 until SCI purchased the firm. In July of 2013, Larry participated in a strike against SCI by the International Brotherhood of Teamsters Local 727. Larry created two synagogue presentations on Jewish funeral traditions illustrated with film clips to educate social workers about funeral planning issues.
