LARRY DUANE JOHNSON SR of Topeka, KS died September 6, 2017. He began working for Bowser Mortuary along with J. W. Jones Funeral Home of Kansas City as a licensed funeral director. In 1976, he and his wife, Harriett purchased Bowser Mortuary from Mrs. Bowser. In 1976, he changed the name to Bowser-Johnson Funeral Chapel and operated it at the Van Buren location until 1997, at which time, Johnson, moved it to its current location in Topeka. He graduated from the California School of Mortuary Science.
