JOSEPH A. MISENCIK of Avon, OH and formerly of Lakewood, OH died December 19, 2018 at the age of 82. A licensed funeral director and embalmer, he worked alongside his father, the late Joseph B. Misencik until his death in 1967 and continued to own and operate the Joseph Misencik Funeral Home in Lakewood. In 1982, he and his wife, Marilyn pur-chased the Garland Funeral Home in Amherst, now the Garland-Misencik Funeral Home and in 1996 they built the Misencik Funeral Home in Avon. He was past president of the Cuyahoga Funeral Directors Association.
