JOHN W. GLUECKERT SR of Arlington Heights, IL died August 14, 2017 at the age of 82. He started his career in the funeral industry working for Dick and Betty Black at Black's Memorial Home in downtown Arlington Heights. He later worked for Howard Haire as a licensed funeral director and manager of Haire Funeral Home, which he purchased in 1970. He renamed the funeral home in 1976 and in 1987 Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd was relocated to its current location on Arlington Heights Road. He formally retired a decade ago, turning over operations to his son and two daughters. He graduated from the Worsham College of Mortuary Science.
