JOHN RYLAND GARRETT of Appomattox, VA died December 8, 2019 at the age of 83. A Certified Funeral Service Practitioner, he worked at Robinson Funeral Home and later the Whitten Funeral Home. Garrett had been a sales representative for the Dodge Company for over 30 years. A graduate of the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science, he was a member of the British Institute of Embalmers, Academy of Funeral Service Practice, South West Virginia Funeral Association and the Virginia Funeral Directors Association.
