ELDEN E. BJURLING of Gardner, MA died January 2, 2021 at the age of 70. He was president and owner of the Smith Funeral Home in Gardner until 2007, following his father who owned the funeral home up until his death in 1972. Bjurling graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1972, receiving a Bachelor of Science from the College of Medical Science, where he served as secretary/treasurer. He was a member of the National Funeral Directors Association, Massachusetts Funeral Directors Association, Associated Funeral Directors Association and the International Order of the Golden Rule.
