EDWARD C. SWANSON of Madison Heights, MI died September 10, 2017 at the age of 87. A funeral director in South Oakland County since 1961, he owned and operated Edward Swanson & Son Funeral Home. He began his first term as mayor in Madison Heights in 1999 and remained in office for 16 years, making him the second longest serving mayor in the city's history.
